Welcome to Basecamp Cooperative
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) explain how you may access and use our website, counselling services, and training courses.
By using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Definitions

  • “We / Us / Our / The Cooperative” refers to Basecamp Cooperative.

  • “You / Your” refers to any client, student or website user.

  • “Counsellor / Practitioner” means a qualified or trainee counsellor acting under supervision.

  • “Training Course” means any course, workshop, class or programme we offer.

  • “Website” means [your domain].


3. Use of Our Website

You may use our website for lawful purposes only.
You must not:

  • misuse the website

  • attempt to gain unauthorised access

  • upload harmful or malicious code

  • use automated scraping tools without permission

We reserve the right to suspend website access at any time.


4. Counselling Services

4.1 Eligibility

You must be aged 18 or over to access counselling unless:

  • parental/guardian consent is provided, and

  • a counsellor deems the service appropriate.

4.2 Nature of counselling

Counselling involves confidential therapeutic work.
We do not guarantee specific outcomes, though counsellors work within professional ethical standards (BACP).

4.3 Appointments

  • Appointments are booked via our website or booking system.

  • You will receive confirmation by email or SMS.

  • The session length is normally one hour unless otherwise stated.

4.4 Cancellations / missed appointments

Unless otherwise agreed:

  • Cancellation with more than 24 hours’ notice → no charge

  • Cancellation within 24 hours → full fee payable

  • Missed session (no-show) → full fee payable

We may waive fees for emergencies or exceptional circumstances at our discretion.

4.5 Crisis support

We do not provide emergency or crisis services.
If you are in immediate danger, contact emergency services via 999, or call NHS 111, Samaritans (116 123), or your local crisis team.


5. Training Courses

5.1 Enrolment

By enrolling, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you meet any course prerequisites.

5.2 Payment

  • Course fees must be paid in full before the course start date unless a payment plan is agreed.

  • Payment plans must be adhered to; failure may result in access suspension.

5.3 Refunds

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Refunds requested 14+ days before the course start → full refund

  • Refunds requested within 14 days of the start → 50% refund

  • After the course starts → no refund

If we cancel a course, you will receive a full refund.

5.4 Assessment and conduct

You agree to:

  • participate respectfully

  • complete required coursework

  • follow tutor instructions

  • maintain confidentiality of peers

We may remove a student for misconduct or breach of policy.


6. Confidentiality & Safeguarding

We maintain strict confidentiality in line with professional ethics and UK GDPR.

However, confidentiality may be broken if:

  • there is a risk of serious harm to you or others

  • there is disclosure of abuse

  • we are legally required (e.g., court order, terrorism legislation)

Where possible, we will inform you before breaching confidentiality.


7. Payments

7.1 Accepted payment methods

Payments may be made by:

  • credit/debit card

  • Stripe

  • bank transfer

  • authorised payment plans

7.2 Fees

All fees are listed on our website and may change from time to time.
Fee changes do not affect sessions or courses already paid for.


8. Intellectual Property

All content on our website and training materials — including text, images, videos, course notes, and branding — is owned by Basecamp Cooperative or licensed to us.

You may not:

  • copy

  • reproduce

  • distribute

  • sell

  • upload

  • share training materials publicly

without our written permission.


9. Limitation of Liability

We do not exclude liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence

  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

  • rights you have under UK consumer law

Otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses

  • we do not guarantee that services will meet personal expectations

  • technical website issues may result in temporary downtime

Counselling outcomes cannot be guaranteed, as they depend on many personal factors.


10. Third-Party Services

We may use external providers such as:

  • Amelia (booking)

  • Stripe / PayPal (payments)

  • Zoom / Teams (online sessions)

  • Learning platforms (if applicable)

Your use of these services may be subject to their own terms.


11. Data Protection

Your privacy is protected under our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time.
The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last Updated” date.
Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.


13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be handled exclusively by the UK courts.
