Our Counselling Skills courses are led by qualified and experienced counsellors, and  are classroom-based. We believe this to be an important aspect, because the in-person element will enable participants to understand the nuances of in-person counselling. It will also enable classmates to have open discussions regarding experiences, counselling approaches, and enhance the ability to socialise and practice with peers. The courses will have a strong focus on interactive learning which will involve group work and practice skills.

The training involves learning about utilising counselling within a helping role as well as learning about yourself. A significant aspect of the course is personal development, and as part of this course you will be required to submit a journal every week and discuss your growth.

In order to conclude your training, you are required to complete a candidate portfolio which includes:

Reflective journals

Group projects

Counselling skills assessment
